Tuesday evening—it’s not quite the start of the week, yet the weekend still feels far off. It’s that day when you’re knee-deep in tasks, and the workday can seem to drag on forever. But what if you could make the most of your Tuesday evening? Here’s a little story to help you navigate the dos and don’ts of winding down after a busy Tuesday.
Do Treat Yourself After Work
After a hectic day at the office, I decided I deserved a little reward. I thought I’d step out for a change rather than take the easy route and order a meal online. There’s this local spot near my office that everyone raves about for its mouthwatering suya and jollof rice, so I figured it was worth a try.
Don’t Go in Without a Backup Plan
The place was buzzing with energy as I arrived, and the aroma was incredible. I felt optimistic. I placed my order, sat down to unwind, and waited. The food finally arrived, looking as delicious as I’d imagined. But when I took the first bite, my excitement quickly faded—it wasn’t the burst of flavors I had been expecting. The jollof rice was dry, and the suya looked really strong. Disappointment washed over me
“All this work for nothing!” I thought to myself.
Instead of dwelling on it, I remembered the golden rule: always have a backup plan. That’s when it hit me—I should have stuck with my original idea, ordering food and having a good evening with the bottle of Jameson I ordered with KongaNow earlier.
Do Make the Most of Your Evening
Deciding not to let the lousy meal ruin my evening, I quickly went online and placed an order for my favorite pepper soup. Then, I caught a ride back home, knowing that a relaxing evening was still within reach.
As soon as I got home, I changed into my comfiest loungewear and put on a soothing playlist from my favorite RnB artists (self-compiled, of course). Shortly after, the doorbell rang, and I was greeted with the delicious aroma of freshly made pepper soup. I smiled, relieved that I could still salvage the evening.
Don’t Forget to Unwind
While enjoying my meal, I scrolled through Konga.com for some mid-week deals. I found some really nice scented candles, quickly added a couple to my cart, and smiled with satisfaction.
After dinner, I lit one of the candles I had previously gotten, turned off the lights, and let the soft glow fill the room.
By the time I settled down to watch a movie, the day’s stress from work had melted away. That’s when I realized that, with the right approach, even a workday evening can feel like a mini escape.
