Weekend Bucket List: 10 Things to Try Before Monday Hits

Is it just me or are weekends annoyingly short? You leave work on Friday, screaming TGIF. Saturday comes with chores and everything that comes with it. Then, Sunday appears from nowhere, and before you know it, boom! Monday! And y’all know the drill with Mondays. Mondays are ruthless!

The truth is that time flies faster when you’re having fun. But what if you could turn your weekend into a mini-adventure, a soulful reset, or a guilt-free indulgence? Have you thought of that?

Don’t worry, I dey for you. This weekend bucket list is your golden ticket to squeezing every last drop of your weekend.

Here are 10 things to try before Monday barges in like it owns the place:
  1. Try a New Recipe (Or Burn One Trying)

Ditch the usual takeout and cook something you’ve never tried. Whether it’s curry sauce or a homemade pizza, it’s less about perfection and more about the experience.

  1. Go Tech-Free for a Few Hours

Log off. Disconnect. Breathe. Whether you’re taking a nature walk, journaling, or lying on the floor doing absolutely nothing, your brain will thank you.

  1. Be a Tourist in Your City

Visit that museum, art gallery, or street food market you’ve ignored for years. You don’t need a plane ticket to explore something new.

  1. Have a Picnic, Even if It’s in Your Backyard

Throw a blanket on the grass, pack your favourite snacks, and enjoy a slow moment under the sky. Bonus points for leaving your phone indoors.

  1. Shop On Konga

I’ve said this a thousand and one times: you do not need to waste time roaming the market every weekend. Shop all your essentials on Konga and have them delivered to your doorstep. What’s more, with the ongoing Konga Anniversary Sale, everything is currently on sale at up to half the price.

  1. Binge Something Guilt-Free

Pick a show or movie you actually want to watch, not just what’s trending. Go into lazy mode; just sit and binge. Snacks are needed.

  1. Dance Like No One’s Judging

Whether you’re having a night out or just feeling solo in your bedroom, blast your favourite playlist and move. No choreography is needed.

  1. Do a Social Detox

Mute, unfollow, or delete apps for the weekend. Focus on what’s happening around you, not what everyone else is doing.

  1. Call That Friend

You know the one you’ve been meaning to catch up with. Do it. Reconnection can be the warmest part of your weekend.

  1. Reflect + Reset

This is an important item on the weekend bucket list. Before Sunday night creeps in, take 20 minutes to reflect. What did you love about the weekend? What do you want to take into the new week? Reset your space. Reset your soul.

Your weekend doesn’t have to be loud, ex pensive, or Instagram-worthy. It just needs to be yours. So do the thing, nap, eat the extra slice, have the deep conversation, and maybe Monday won’t feel so chaotic.
