The Day NEPA Took Light and My Motivation With It

“Okay… today might actually be a really good day.”

That was the exact thought I had five minutes before the light went out.

I genuinely believed I had everything under control.

My laptop was open and plugged in. Music was playing softly in the background. I had replied emails I’d been avoiding, completed tasks ahead of schedule, and even started feeling ambitious enough to tackle things I had postponed for weeks.

Everything was going well. I was productive. And I’m talking real productivity. Not the forced kind where you’re pretending to work while scrolling through your phone every five minutes, but the kind where your brain is clear, and your to-do list is moving. I was locked in.

And honestly, I was proud of myself. In my mind, this was the beginning of my “new disciplined era.”

Then suddenly… Fiam.

Silence.

No more gentle hum from the refrigerator or AC. No more cool breeze from the fan. Nothing. It felt like someone at the NEPA office had looked directly at my progress and decided to press pause on my life.

And just like that, the entire mood changed.

How One Power Outage Somehow Affects Everything

It’s funny how quickly things can unravel once the light goes out.

At first, there’s denial.

You sit still for a few seconds, hopeful. Maybe it’s just a quick interruption. Maybe they’re doing a quick fix. Or maybe if you don’t react too quickly, the electricity gods will pity you and restore it immediately.

But then reality starts settling in.

The room becomes unbearably hot. Your Wi-Fi disappears. Your laptop battery percentage starts looking threatening. And now, instead of focusing on work, your brain has shifted into survival mode.

How long will this last?
Did I charge my power bank?
Should I open all the windows?

Because it’s hard to stay motivated when you’re overheating, frustrated, and watching your devices slowly count down to zero.

The Difference Between Panic and Preparedness

The thing about NEPA taking light is that it’s never really surprising.

Annoying? Absolutely.

Inconvenient? Every single time.

But surprising? Nope.

Matter of fact, we’ve become so used to it that most of us almost expect it.

Which is why the people who seem least affected by it are usually the people who prepared ahead.

They charged their devices. Their power bank is ready. There’s a rechargeable fan somewhere sitting pretty. Their inverter or backup setup kicks in before frustration even has time to settle properly.

That level of preparedness changes the entire experience. Because when you have the right setup, the day doesn’t completely fall apart when NEPA decides to do what it does best. You simply adjust.

Being Ready Changes Everything

At some point, the light eventually came back.

But by then, my motivation had already packed its bags and left the building.

And honestly, that whole experience reminded me of a simple truth: life flows better when you prepare for the little disruptions before they happen.

A charged power bank. Backup inverters. Rechargeable gadgets. Everyday comforts that help you continue your day without everything falling apart the moment something unexpected happens. Or in this case, something expected.

So the next time NEPA decides to humble the entire neighborhood, don’t let it take your productivity and peace of mind with it.

Stay ready for anything. Shop power backups, gadgets, and home essentials on Konga.
