Home Lifestyle A Big Boys' Affair

A Big Boys’ Affair

Last week, I came across an article titled 5 Exciting Ways to Spend Easter. I read and digested it, taking point number two listed in the article personally. So, I invited my guys over for games. I began to clean my apartment early, and by afternoon, I was exhausted, and since cooking wasn’t an option, I ordered in. I also bought drinks, lots of them, because they came at a huge discount on Konga.com

My first guest arrived at 4 PM, and it didn’t take long before the others began to troop in. I had a full house ready for our games in no time. This is definitely what I needed to relieve the stress in Lagos.

Everything was moving just fine until my electricity units finished.

“I’m sorry, guys. Unit don finish. But I go run am now.”

I tried to open my bank App, but it was down completely. It was at that moment that I knew I was done for. My generator was bad, and my Inverter had also packed up the previous week, and I was ‘going to’ get it fixed.

“What’s up, guy? Buying units no suppose take time naa,” Dave, my cousin said. When he heard about the house game, he insisted on coming even though I didn’t want to have him around because I didn’t plan on parting ways with any of my clothing.

Omoh, my bank App no dey even open. What kind of rubbish is this in this country? How can bank App not open on a Holiday like this? I said, getting upset already.

“Calm down joor. Let me help your life. Watch and learn” said Dave.

He unlocked his phone and opened an App called KongaPay. Then he clicked on the Bills & Services menu and then navigated to Electricity Billers.

“Call your meter number,” he said.

I did. And in exactly three seconds, power was restored.

Ahhhhh. Thank you, Brother.”

“Don’t thank me yet,” he replied, “There is this jacket I saw you wearing in that picture you posted last week.”

“Oga, if you like it, go and buy it. I will give you a plug. Big boys no dey beg for clothes.”

Dave chuckled.

“No…Big boys use KongaPay,” he said, throwing a piece of meat into his mouth.
